Itinerary

  1. Sun Princess arrives in Fort Lauderdale on November 21, 2026, after a 15-night trans-Atlantic voyage from Barcelona.
  2. The 4,300-passenger ship operates Caribbean and Bahamas cruises through March 2027, including calls at Celebration Key.
  3. The vessel previously completed a nearly six-month third Mediterranean season that started in April.
  4. The ship returns to Europe for a summer season from early April 2027 through early November 2027.
  5. Sun Princess was built at Fincantieri and entered service in early 2024.

Princess Cruises' 4,300-passenger Sun Princess is crossing the Atlantic this month, and it will anchor the brand's Caribbean deployment from Fort Lauderdale through March 2027.

The ship started its 15-night repositioning voyage in late October, departing from the Port of Barcelona. The routing calls at Málaga, Cádiz, Gibraltar and Santa Cruz de Tenerife in Spain, plus a stop in the United Kingdom. It arrives in Fort Lauderdale on November 21, 2026.

That arrival date matters for sellers of cruise inventory. From Fort Lauderdale, the Sun Princess opens a winter season of short and weeklong Caribbean sailings — product that competes directly with the winter capacity Carnival Corporation's other brands already run from South Florida.

What does the first sailing look like?

The season opener is a six-night Eastern Caribbean cruise visiting three destinations. It calls at Celebration Key, Carnival Corporation's private destination on Grand Bahama, alongside stops at Grand Turk and Amber Cove.

For agents, Celebration Key is the key detail. Carnival is steering its brands' itineraries toward the private destination, and Princess putting the Sun Princess on those calls ties one of its newest ships into the corporation's destination strategy.

The vessel repeats similar Eastern Caribbean itineraries through March 2027. It also runs weeklong Western Caribbean voyages calling at Cozumel in Mexico, Roatán in Honduras and San Juan in Puerto Rico.

Where was the ship before?

Before repositioning, the Sun Princess spent nearly six months on its third Mediterranean season, running from April with departures from Piraeus in Greece, Civitavecchia in Italy and Barcelona in Spain. Port calls included Messina in Italy, Corfu in Greece, Bar in Montenegro and Kusadasi in Turkey.

In plain terms: Princess pulled one of its flagship vessels out of a mature European summer market and placed it into the highest-volume winter cruise region in the world.

What happens after the Caribbean season?

Once the winter program wraps, the Sun Princess returns to Europe. A summer season there starts in early April 2027 and runs through early November 2027, restoring the annual trans-Atlantic rotation Princess has built around the ship.

The vessel is one of the newest in the Princess fleet. Fincantieri built it, and it entered service in early 2024.

The takeaway for travel sellers: a 2024-built, 4,300-guest ship now sits in the Fort Lauderdale market with short Eastern Caribbean product anchored by Celebration Key — inventory worth placing before the March 2027 cutoff, with European summer sailings following from April.
