Disney Dream Back in Fort Lauderdale for Bahamas-Caribbean Winter
The 2,500-guest Disney Dream is back at Port Everglades for winter Bahamas-Caribbean cruises, with San Juan calls from April and a Port Canaveral base from summer 2027.

Itinerary
- Disney Dream returned to Fort Lauderdale in late September for a winter season of three- to seven-night cruises.
- The 2,500-passenger ship pairs with the Disney Destiny at Port Everglades.
- San Juan cruises begin in April, followed by summer 2027 at Port Canaveral.
- The Disney Wish takes over European cruises in 2027 with three- to ten-night sailings.
- Newbuild Disney Believe is due to sail from Fort Lauderdale starting December 2027.
The Disney Dream returned to Fort Lauderdale in late September, starting a winter season of three- to seven-night cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean from Port Everglades alongside the Disney Destiny.
The deployment follows a summer in Europe. Between May and September 2026, the 2011-built, 2,500-passenger vessel operated Mediterranean cruises to the Greek Islands, Spain and Italy, then repositioned to Southampton for North and Baltic Sea sailings calling in Scandinavia, the British Isles and Western Europe.
For sellers of short-break Bahamas product, the winter program concentrates capacity at a single South Florida homeport.
What do the itineraries include?
The cruises are built around Disney's two private Bahamian destinations, which the company uses to differentiate its product from competing lines:
- Castaway Cay
- Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point
- Nassau
- Eastern Caribbean calls including Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic), Tortola (British Virgin Islands) and Philipsburg (St. Maarten)
The private-island emphasis matters for distribution: those stops are exclusive to Disney Cruise Line inventory, giving agents a differentiator that competitors such as Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay contest directly in the same drive market.
Where does the ship go next?
Starting in April, the Disney Dream will offer cruises from San Juan, Puerto Rico, before repositioning to Port Canaveral for summer 2027. There it joins the Disney Treasure and the Disney Fantasy in Central Florida, offering three- and four-night Bahamas cruises.
With the Disney Dream then sailing year-round to the Caribbean and the Bahamas, Disney has assigned its European 2027 program to the Disney Wish. The 2022-built ship will make its regional debut with three- to ten-night cruises from England, Italy and Spain — a wider duration spread than the Dream's European seasons, which sellers can position across both short and longer Mediterranean itineraries.
What else is coming to Fort Lauderdale?
Disney recently revealed further details of its upcoming newbuild, the Disney Believe, which will sail from Fort Lauderdale starting in December 2027. The move adds a third pipeline ship to the South Florida hub over the next two years and signals Disney's intent to scale Caribbean capacity even as it rotates European deployments among its newer vessels.
For trade partners, the pattern is now clear: Fort Lauderdale functions as Disney's core winter Caribbean base, Port Canaveral as the year-round short-cruise anchor, and Europe as a rotating seasonal market — with the Disney Wish picking up the 2027 European season the Dream just vacated.
