Holland America Line has fixed Oct. 30, 2027 as the departure date for a 28-day Pan Am 100th Anniversary Legendary Voyage, a roundtrip Miami sailing aboard Zuiderdam calling at 18 destinations across the Caribbean and Central America.

The deployment is a deliberate play for high-intent, theme-driven bookers: the cruise retraces portions of Pan Am's historic routes and pairs the itinerary with programming built around the defunct carrier's brand equity. Sellers of travel should note the long-lead window — the sailing goes on sale well over two years out, a pattern that favors early-locked group and affinity bookings.

"Pan Am helped redefine what it meant to travel, turning the journey into an experience filled with discovery, connection and a sense of occasion," said Paul Grigsby, vice president of itinerary planning and deployment for Holland America Line. He said the cruise merges Pan Am's history with Holland America's signature experiences "from the ship to the destinations along the way."

What does the onboard product include?

Holland America has lined up a roster of Pan Am and aviation historians and experts for shipboard presentations, including actor and storyteller Willie Aames, Pan Am Museum Foundation chair and co-founder Linda Freire, and the foundation's vice chairman David Hinson.

The line will also recreate elements of the Clipper Club, Pan Am's private airport lounge network, and serve menus inspired by the airline's inflight cuisine — dishes such as Cocktail de Crevettes, Sole en Croûte and Soufflé Grand Marnier — alongside signature cocktails The Pan Am and The Clipper.

Craig Carter, CEO of Pan Am Global Holdings, which licenses the airline's brand, framed the sailing as a commercial celebration of the century mark. "We'll be marking 100 years of Pan Am at the start of this cruise, and I can't think of a better way for our biggest fans and new fans to celebrate," Carter said. "Not only is the cruise itinerary reminiscent of our early days of the Flying Clippers, but the onboard experience we are creating with Holland America will bring to life a special time in the history of travel."

Which shore excursions are exclusive to the sailing?

Four curated tours tie the ports directly to Pan Am's regional history:

• "Pan Am's Golden Age: Cartagena's Jet Set" — touring Cartagena in classic roadsters, tied to the city's Pan Am-era reputation for world-class emeralds.
• "Agua Clara Locks and Panama Canal Railway" — connecting two landmarks of the transport network that enabled regional travel.
• "High Point" — a Shirley Heights excursion in St. John's, Antigua, offering harbor views akin to those navigators used to guide aircraft into port.
• "Pan Am's Caribbean: Wings of Trinidad" — exploring Port of Spain and Chaguaramas, Pan Am's former flying boat base where the Clippers once landed.

For agents, the pitch is straightforward: a niche, brand-heritage product with exclusive content that is difficult to replicate on standard Caribbean deployments — and a selling window that opens now for a 2027 departure.
