Hapag-Lloyd Prices 2027 Europa Talks Voyages From €6,112
Hapag-Lloyd's rebranded Europa Talks program prices 2027 speaker-led sailings from €6,112, with three themed voyages and three more editions set for 2028.

Itinerary
- Europa Talks sailings in 2027 book from €6,112 per person in the Silver fare.
- The 23-day Rio de Janeiro–Valparaíso edition runs Jan 25–Feb 17, 2027, from €12,892 per person.
- Hosts include ex-ZDF editor-in-chief Peter Frey, ex-Bundestag President Wolfgang Thierse and historian Karl Schlögel.
- Three further Europa Talks editions are planned for 2028.
- The 400-guest Europa enters drydock in Bremerhaven in fall 2027.
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has priced its 2027 Europa Talks sailings from €6,112 per person, as the TUI-owned luxury line rebrands its onboard discussion format and leans on high-profile German public figures to sell long, high-fare voyages.
The program, formerly called Europa Salon, runs on select sailings aboard the 400-guest Europa in 2027. Experts from politics, business, science and media join guests for moderated discussions, lectures and personal encounters. Topics include societal change, international developments and an increasingly complex news landscape.
Head of luxury cruises Lisa Wilken framed the format as a pairing of destination and context. "Our guests are interested in the destinations as well as the background and developments that shape our present. With Europa Talks, we combine both: special experiences along the route and inspiring encounters with personalities who share their experiences and perspectives and provide food for thought that extends beyond the journey," Wilken said.
Who is hosting, and on which routes?
Journalist Peter Frey, former editor-in-chief at German public broadcaster ZDF, hosts selected trips and will examine current political and social issues from different perspectives.
Three themed editions anchor the 2027 lineup:
- Europe, democracy and cultural identity — Frey, historian Karl Schlögel (2025 Peace Prize laureate of the German Book Trade) and former Minister of State for Culture and Media Monika Grütters explore Europe's historical and cultural roots on a roundtrip from Piraeus.
- German politics and international developments — Frey, former Bundestag President Wolfgang Thierse and political scientist Andrea Römmele discuss German domestic politics, the governing coalition, state elections and geopolitics after the US midterm elections, on a sailing from Rio de Janeiro to Valparaíso.
- France after the presidential election — Frey, former Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn and ARD journalist Sabine Rau analyze the consequences of the French presidential election, on a routing along the French Riviera to Hamburg.
The speakers give the line a differentiated product in a luxury segment where onboard content is increasingly part of the pitch.
What does it cost, and for how long?
The Rio de Janeiro–Valparaíso edition runs January 25 to February 17, 2027 — 23 days along the South American coast from Brazil to Chile. It is bookable in the Silver fare from €12,892 per person, double occupancy, including arrival and departure package.
The France edition sails May 31 to June 16, 2027 — 16 days from the French Riviera to Hamburg along the coasts of France, Spain, Portugal and Northern Europe, from €6,112 per person in the Silver fare, including travel package.
Both figures sit at the premium end of the cruise market and signal the fare levels Hapag-Lloyd expects the speaker format to command.
What comes next?
Hapag-Lloyd plans to expand the program with economics, science and future-oriented topics. Three further editions are already scheduled for 2028:
- Pure East Asia – Between Zen and Zeitgeist (Hong Kong – Yokohama)
- Pintxos, Poetry and Small Harbor Gems (Leixões (Porto) – Hamburg)
- From The Big Apple to the Heart of the Caribbean (New York – Miami)
Separately, the line confirmed the 400-guest Europa will enter drydock in Bremerhaven in fall 2027 — meaning the ship should emerge refreshed for the expanded 2028 program.
