Crystal will debut five new suites aboard the Crystal Serenity starting May 5, 2028, anchored by a 1,722-square-foot Owner's Suite following a previously announced Lisbon drydock.

  3. Four Junior Penthouse Premium Suites each measure 861 sq ft with a 205-sq-ft veranda
  4. All new cabins sit midship on deck 11, joining 6 existing Junior Penthouse Deluxe Suites
  5. A separate drydock this month revamps the Aquamarine Classic Suite category on deck 10

Crystal will debut five new accommodations aboard the Crystal Serenity beginning May 5, 2028, led by a 1,722-square-foot Crystal Owner's Suite — a two-bedroom layout with a 409-square-foot veranda that becomes the largest new-build cabin in the ship's post-refit lineup.

The additions follow a previously announced drydock in Lisbon and sit on deck 11, midship. For travel sellers, the new inventory opens four Junior Penthouse Premium Suites alongside the Owner's Suite — premium-priced categories positioned at the top of the Serenity's accommodation hierarchy.

What is Crystal adding to the Serenity?

The flagship cabin is the Crystal Owner's Suite, comprising 1,722 square feet of interior space and a 409-square-foot veranda. The two-bedroom layout pairs a master suite with a king-size bed, two walk-in closets, and a marble-lined bathroom with Jacuzzi against a second bedroom with its own walk-in closet and bathroom. Shared living spaces include a library, fireplace, and dining area with panoramic ocean views, a butler pantry, and personalized bar service.

Each Owner's Suite ships with in-suite Technogym equipment paired with personalized Technogym Coach programming and integrated entertainment, plus a state-of-the-art Hi-Fi system controllable via dual LED touch panels in the living room and bedroom.

Four Junior Penthouse Premium Suites supplement the ship's six existing Junior Penthouse Deluxe Suites, with each new unit offering 861 square feet of interior space and a 205-square-foot veranda. All five cabins open for sailing from May 5, 2028.

Why does this matter for trade sellers?

Each added suite shifts the Serenity's revenue mix toward the upper tier of its rate categories. The Owner's Suite's in-cabin amenities — fireplace, butler pantry, Technogym, marble Jacuzzi bath — position it alongside the top accommodations on competing luxury vessels.

Travel sellers booking clients on Serenity voyages departing after May 5, 2028, will need to confirm which of the new categories are open for reservation through their normal distribution channels and how the Owner's Suite is being allocated between direct bookings and the trade. Crystal has not disclosed pricing for the new categories.

What did Crystal say?

Bernie Leypold, senior vice president of hotel operations for Crystal, framed the additions as a measured evolution rather than a redesign.

"We are continuing to thoughtfully evolve Crystal Serenity while preserving the character and sense of ease that have made her so beloved by our guests," Leypold said. "These new suites allow us to introduce fresh design elements and greater choice while creating an accommodation collection that feels cohesive, contemporary and distinctly Crystal."

How does the 2028 drydock fit with the current refit?

The May 2028 drydock in Lisbon is a separate, larger undertaking from the work scheduled for the ship later this month. The current refit touches only the Aquamarine Classic Suite category on deck 10, while the 2028 program introduces an entirely new accommodation tier on deck 11. Crystal has not disclosed pricing for the new categories or the total square footage added beyond the five units outlined.

What should travel sellers watch next?

Pricing for the Owner's Suite and Junior Penthouse Premium Suites will set the benchmark for the Serenity's late-2028 and 2029 deployments. Travel sellers will also track how Crystal allocates the new inventory between direct bookings, the trade portal, and consortia overrides — a question the operator has not yet addressed publicly. With the existing-month Aquamarine refit on deck 10 closing first, Crystal will effectively run two drydock schedules back-to-back on the same hull.
