Lindblad Expeditions posted the highest third-quarter per diem in its history in Q3: a net yield of $1,398 per available guest night, achieved while occupancy ran at 91 percent on growing capacity.

The figure marks the third consecutive quarter in which the expedition operator filled more than 90 percent of its berths, a level CEO Natalya Leahy called consistent with the company's long-term stated goal. "It was our third consecutive quarter with occupancy above 90 percent, consistent with our long-term stated goal," Leahy said.

She attributed the result to commercial discipline rather than demand alone. "Our disciplined commercial execution, revenue management and improved marketing strategies continue to drive strong bookings momentum," she said.

Why the booking window matters

Over the past 18 months, Lindblad has pushed guests to book further in advance. That shift makes revenue more predictable and gives the operator more room on price, according to Leahy.

The average booking window grew from 9.5 months to 11.9 months — a 2.4-month extension that supports the pricing power now visible in the record per diem.

The takeaway: a longer booking window converts forward demand into firmer pricing, the core mechanics behind the yield record.

What happens to pricing now?

Leahy signaled that the sharpest gains are behind the company. "We are at the optimal occupancy level," she said. "On many, many occasions, our pricing is in double digits. Now it will level to about mid-single-digit yield."

In plain terms, the double-digit price increases of recent periods should moderate to mid-single-digit yield growth as occupancy holds near its ceiling.

Onboard and extension revenue climbs 27 percent

Revenue beyond the base fare is growing faster than the core business. Onboard and extension revenue rose 27 percent year to date, and Leahy said there was "significant room to further unlock the full potential of this revenue stream."

For sellers of expedition product, that growth points to higher total transaction value per guest, even as headline yield gains slow.

Guidance raised

Lindblad raised its full-year net yield guidance to growth of 6 to 7 percent, up from the previous range of 5.5 to 6.5 percent.

The company enters the final quarter with occupancy holding above 90 percent, a stretched booking window, and a raised yield outlook.
