Hilton London Bankside has opened the final floor of a 76-room expansion, taking its suite count to 23 and adding 12 room and suite categories at published rates from £152 to £535 a night.

The Southwark hotel sits a short walk from Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe. Its interiors use sculptural headboards, angular mirrors, considered lighting and curated artwork to evoke a gallery and draw on the South Bank’s arts-heavy setting. That design proposition comes from hotel positioning, not measured guest-demand data.

What did Hilton add?

The new ninth floor contains two suites: the King One Bedroom City View Suite and the King One Bedroom Landmark View Suite. Both have floor-to-ceiling windows facing Bankside and the wider city skyline.

The additions bring the hotel’s total to 23 individually designed suites. Shared and suite-specific facilities include dedicated dining areas, coffee machines, Executive Lounge access and spa-style walk-in showers with jets. Some suites add walk-in wardrobes; others have private fitness and wellness spaces with customizable lighting, sound and scent, plus equipment options tailored to a guest’s preferred routine.

For corporate guests, the Executive Lounge and a separate dining table create places to work between appointments or prepare for meetings without retreating to the bed.

Which rooms carry the highest rates?

Published rates start at £152 a night for the new rooms, subject to availability. The upper end adds private dining space, Executive Lounge access and in-room fitness, pitched at longer work trips or weekend stays.

  • The Premium Peloton Room starts at £369. Its naturally lit fitness alcove holds a personal Peloton Bike, targeting guests who want to maintain a training routine while away.
  • The King Junior Landmark View Suite starts at £514 and frames views including The Shard through floor-to-ceiling windows.
  • The King Premier One Bedroom Suite starts at £535, sleeps up to four guests and includes a spacious lounge and dining area.
  • The Two Queen Superior Room starts at £330 and targets families and friends traveling together.

Flexible interconnecting rooms and selected layouts with convertible chaise sofas serve smaller families and groups of three.

How will the new inventory sell?

The published prices, particularly the upper tiers, sit above many employers’ London accommodation caps. The rooms are therefore more likely to sell as upgrades, senior-executive stays or personally funded extensions than as standard, policy-compliant business accommodation.

Travel managers may still use twin and interconnecting options for colleagues sharing project work or attending events, where company rules allow cost sharing.

For UK business travelers and the companies booking their stays, the immediate gain is more choice. For travel sellers, the broader inventory creates more options to quote, but the announcement discloses no commission, wholesale or distribution change; Hilton publishes rates and availability on Hilton.com.

The announcement provides no bookings, occupancy, revenue or average-rate data, so the expansion’s effect on actual room revenue remains unquantified.

Can the suites support family extensions?

The lobby welcomes children with a sweet stand and cartoons, while the Fox Cub Trail encourages them to explore the building as part of their stay.

The amenities give business travelers a reason to bring a partner or children on a work trip. Larger suites can turn a midweek business stay into a city break without changing hotels, while Borough Market, the river and the City remain within easy reach for work and leisure.

The expansion’s revenue effect will depend on whether the new categories sell as upgrades, executive stays or family extensions rather than policy-compliant corporate rooms; the announcement provides no bookings, occupancy or revenue forecast with which to test that proposition.
