Carnival Doubles Down on Adults-Only: Two More SEA Cruises for 2027
Carnival adds two adults-only SEA cruises for 2027 aboard Paradise and Horizon, betting casino-led 21-plus sailings outearn family inventory. Bookings open through October 2026.

Itinerary
- Carnival Paradise sails a six-night Western Caribbean adults-only cruise from Tampa on February 12, 2027.
- Carnival Horizon follows with a six-night Western Caribbean SEA sailing from Galveston on May 13, 2027.
- Both new sailings are bookable through October 16, 2026 and restricted to guests 21 and older.
- SEA Cruises launched in early 2025 on Carnival Conquest and has since spread to Glory, Dream, Paradise and Firenze.
- Carnival Firenze will run four SEA cruises from Long Beach to the Mexican Riviera in October–November 2026.
Carnival Cruise Line has added two adults-only sailings to its 2027 schedule, extending a SEA Cruises program (its 21-and-over, casino-led product) that keeps growing faster than anyone at the line seems to have planned.
Brand Ambassador John Heald shared the update, saying the sailings were added "in response to popular demand." Both are open for booking through October 16, 2026 — a long runway, which tells you Carnival wants early deposit capture on a niche product.
The ships involved are familiar rather than flagship. Carnival Paradise departs Tampa on February 12, 2027, on a six-night Western Caribbean roundtrip. Carnival Horizon follows on May 13, 2027, with a similar six-night Western Caribbean voyage from Galveston. Both call at Cozumel, Mexico, and Carnival's Isla Tropicale in Roatán, Honduras.
What does the expansion signal?
The onboard pitch is straightforward: expanded casino access, themed parties, bingo events and other adult-focused activities. That is a revenue mix built around the casino floor, not the splash deck. Carnival said as much at launch — the sailings were designed to maximize guests' casino playtime and onboard spend.
SEA Cruises debuted in early 2025 on select Carnival Conquest sailings between August and September of that year. The program then spread to additional ships and dates without much pause.
By 2026, Carnival Glory, Carnival Dream and Carnival Paradise were all running adults-only itineraries, ranging from the Caribbean to Europe. One ship type, three very different markets. That is not a test anymore; it is a distribution decision.
Has Carnival paid a price for the pivot?
Yes, in capacity terms. Earlier this year the line canceled a month of sailings aboard Carnival Firenze to make room for new SEA cruises on the West Coast. The Firenze will sail four SEA voyages to the Mexican Riviera from Long Beach between October and November 2026.
So the trade arithmetic is simple. Carnival is converting family-oriented inventory into adult-only, casino-weighted inventory — and cancelling paying cruises to do it. The company evidently judges that a full ship of 21-plus gamblers outearns a full ship of families on those dates.
For agents, the practical notes are these:
- Two new 2027 departures: Paradise from Tampa, February 12; Horizon from Galveston, May 13
- Six nights each, Western Caribbean, calls at Cozumel and Isla Tropicale
- Strict 21-plus age policy — a genuinely rare constraint in mainstream cruising
- Bookable now through October 16, 2026
Whether the demand holds through 2027 is the open question. Carnival has now bet West Coast, Gulf and Caribbean capacity on it. The next tell will be whether the line keeps swapping family sailings for SEA departures — or quietly stops.
