Carnival Opens Bookings for 2028-29 West Coast Season

Carnival opens sales for 2028-29 West Coast sailings: Adventure, Legend and Spirit will run Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico cruises from three homeports.

Itinerary

  1. Carnival opened bookings for 2028-29 West Coast itineraries aboard Adventure, Legend and Spirit.
  2. Carnival Adventure will sail 18 seven-day Alaska cruises from Seattle between May 9 and Sept. 5, 2028.
  3. Carnival Spirit repositions to Long Beach in October 2028 for Hawaii and Mexico sailings through spring 2029.
  4. Carnival Legend will run nine 10-day Alaska sailings from San Francisco, May 15–Sept. 4, 2028.
  5. The Spirit's season opens with a 16-day Panama Canal Carnival Journeys sailing from Tampa on April 16, 2028.

Carnival Cruise Line has opened bookings for its 2028-29 West Coast season, deploying the Carnival Adventure, Legend and Spirit on itineraries to Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico — a schedule that puts three vessels and dozens of departures on sale for sellers more than three years out.

The lineup includes a new Alaska operator: the Carnival Adventure, which relocates seasonally from Australia and will debut its Alaska season from Seattle. Carnival is also loading longer "Carnival Journeys" repositioning and destination cruises from Seattle, San Francisco and Long Beach — higher-priced, longer-duration inventory that broadens the line's sellable product beyond its short Baja staple.

What goes on sale?

Carnival Adventure (Seattle):

  • 18 seven-day Alaska Inside Passage & Glacier cruises, May 9–Sept. 5, 2028, calling at Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway and Victoria, B.C., with scenic cruising in Endicott Arm Fjord.
  • A nine-day Carnival Journeys Alaska cruise departing Sept. 12, 2028, followed by a 16-day Hawaii voyage departing Sept. 21.

Carnival Legend (San Francisco):

  • 10 four-day Baja Mexico cruises to Ensenada, April–August 2028.
  • Nine 10-day Alaska sailings, May 15–Sept. 4, 2028, calling at Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan (Ward Cove) and Prince Rupert, B.C., plus Endicott Arm scenic cruising.
  • A 13-day Carnival Journeys Alaska cruise departing April 28, 2028, and a 15-day Hawaii cruise departing Sept. 14.

Carnival Spirit (Seattle, then Long Beach):

  • A 16-day Carnival Journeys Panama Canal sailing from Tampa opens the season on April 16, 2028.
  • 18 seven-day Alaska cruises from Seattle, May 11–Sept. 7, 2028, with the same Juneau-Ketchikan-Skagway-Victoria pattern.
  • Select longer Alaska sailings, including nine-day itineraries to Sitka and Icy Strait Point, and a nine-day Carnival Journeys Alaska departure on Sept. 14.
  • From October 2028 through spring 2029, the Spirit repositions to Long Beach: 11 Carnival Journeys Hawaii sailings calling at Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii Island, alongside three-day Baja getaways, five-day Mexican Riviera cruises and select eight-day sailings to Cabo San Lucas, La Paz, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta.

Why it matters for sellers

The move scales Carnival's West Coast presence across three homeports — Seattle, San Francisco and Long Beach — and stretches the Alaska season across nearly the full May–September 2028 window from two of them. For agents, the Adventures' arrival from the Australian fleet marks a redeployed asset with a new selling geography, while the Journeys product adds commissionable long-sail inventory in Alaska, Hawaii and the Panama Canal.

The four-day Ensenada runs from San Francisco and the Long Beach short Baja program keep the entry-level price points that drive volume bookings, and the mix of three-, five- and eight-day Mexico products from Long Beach gives sellers graduated upsell paths into 2029.

With bookings now live through spring 2029, Carnival has effectively extended its West Coast selling window by more than a year beyond a typical deployment cycle.
