TikTok GO Lets US Users Book Hotels and Tours In-App
TikTok GO launches in-app booking for hotels, tours and attractions in the US via Booking.com, Expedia, GetYourGuide, Tiqets, Trip.com and Viator, with creator commissions attached.

Itinerary
- TikTok GO enables in-app booking of hotels, tours and attractions, live now in the US for users aged 18+.
- Supply partners include Booking.com, Expedia, GetYourGuide, Tiqets, Trip.com and Viator.
- Creators earn commissions or campaign fees for promoting businesses bookable through TikTok GO.
- TikTok tested the booking concept with some accounts last year before the formal launch.
- The product follows TikTok's 2021 Shopify-backed Shopping tab and general TikTok Shop commerce.
TikTok has switched on in-app travel booking in the US, turning hotels, tours and attractions featured in short video into a checkout flow — with Booking.com, Expedia, GetYourGuide, Tiqet, Trip.com and Viator supplying the inventory. The product, called TikTok GO, lives in a new menu inside the app and is restricted to US users aged 18 and over.
For the six distribution partners, the move opens a demand channel built on impulse-driven video consumption. For travel sellers more broadly, it inserts a commission-taking social platform between inspiration and booking, the stage of the funnel that meta-search engines and DMOs currently fight over.
The feature also builds a creator economy layer on top of travel supply. TikTok said creators can earn commissions or take part in campaigns promoting businesses bookable through TikTok GO, effectively adding thousands of unpaid distribution agents to the platform's sales force. Some accounts saw posts using the concept last year, when TikTok tested the mechanic before the formal launch.
How does TikTok GO fit TikTok's commerce push?
TikTok GO extends a transactions roadmap the company has been building since 2021, when it added a Shopping tab for business users backed by Shopify. TikTok Shop handles general merchandise seen in videos; TikTok GO applies the same see-it-buy-it logic to travel, a category with far higher basket values and longer consideration cycles.
That mismatch is the strategic bet. Big-ticket travel purchases rarely behave like impulse buys, yet the platform is wagering that video-driven wanderlust can compress the path from discovery to payment into a single session.
What does it change for travel sellers?
The immediate consequences are distribution-driven:
- New supply channel: Six major booking platforms gain placement inside an app with a US user base measured in the tens of millions, paying no separate acquisition cost for in-feed discovery.
- Creator commissions: A performance-marketing layer lets individual creators monetize travel content directly, shifting promotional spend from brand campaigns to per-booking payouts.
- Funnel compression: TikTok GO targets the inspiration stage that Google, Instagram and meta-search currently monetize later in the journey.
No bookings figures, commission rates or partner economics have been disclosed, so the revenue impact remains unmeasured. The platform has not said whether the feature will expand beyond the US or to younger users with parental controls.
Is the US restriction a limitation or a first step?
Capping availability at US users aged 18-plus suggests a cautious rollout that mirrors how TikTok staged Shopping and Shop features geographically before scaling. The age gate also aligns with payment liability and the reality that most travel bookers are adults.
For the partner platforms, US-only access limits early volume but tests a market where social commerce adoption is already proven through TikTok Shop. Expansion decisions will likely hinge on early conversion data from the launch cohort.
TikTok has positioned GO as the specialized travel counterpart to its general commerce arm, and the coming months will show whether video-native booking can move from a tested curiosity to a measurable share of partners' US bookings.
