Sea Cloud Cruises has consolidated marketing for all of its international markets under a single global lead in Hamburg, naming Jana Woczikowski as its global marketing director.

The appointment signals a structural change in how the German small-ship operator goes to market. Woczikowski will run marketing from the Hamburg headquarters, coordinating regional teams and communications partners to keep one brand voice across every booking channel.

What changes for the U.S. trade?

The U.S. operation stays firmly inside the new structure. A dedicated marketing role will focus on travel advisor engagement and consumer outreach in North America, according to a company statement.

That team will work directly with Woczikowski and Kevin Smith, president of the Americas, aligning regional initiatives with the global brand strategy and growth objectives. In plain terms: North American sellers keep a local contact, but campaign direction now comes from Hamburg.

Why the company went looking for her

Owner's Representative Ralph de Klijn said the company didn't wait for Woczikowski to find it — it went looking for her instead.

"She understands how a brand with heritage is built and protected, and she knows our industry, its trade partners and its guests from the inside. We have brought marketing for all our markets together under one global lead in Hamburg, so that Sea Cloud Cruises speaks with one voice everywhere our guests book," de Klijn said.

He framed the product in equally direct terms. "What we offer is time, days under sail on yachts that reach places no other ship can, and Jana's task is to bring that to the guests who are looking for exactly this."

Who is Jana Woczikowski?

Her resume reads as a deliberate fit. Most recently she served as director of marketing at Lanserhof Group, the health-resort operator. Before that, she held senior roles covering marketing and e-commerce at TUI Cruises — experience that spans both brand building and direct online distribution.

Woczikowski called Sea Cloud Cruises one of the most iconic names in small-ship cruising, and said its heritage and authenticity are increasingly rare in the travel market.

What comes next

Her mandate starts against a concrete backdrop. The original Sea Cloud returns from drydock (scheduled ship maintenance and refit), and the company is continuing to invest in the brand.

"As the company enters an exciting new chapter following Sea Cloud's upcoming return from drydock and continued investment in the brand, there is tremendous opportunity to build on that momentum and expand awareness across key global markets," Woczikowski said.

She also named her distribution priorities explicitly: "I am excited to work alongside the talented teams in Hamburg and Florida, as well as our travel advisor partners around the world, to elevate the brand's visibility and share the story of these extraordinary yachts with more travelers."

For advisors, that phrasing matters. A brand built on heritage products tends to sell through high-touch channels, and Woczikowski is signaling that trade partners stay central to the growth plan even as marketing centralizes in Germany.

She closed with a personal note about introducing "a new generation of guests" to the line's sail-driven product — a hint that audience expansion, not just retention of the existing luxury base, sits on her agenda.

The first test of the new structure will come with the Sea Cloud's post-drydock relaunch and the campaigns that follow it.
