Riviera River Cruises Hires Lissette Robledo to Run North America Marketing
Riviera Travel River Cruises names Lissette Robledo commercial marketing director for North America, a new Fort Lauderdale role linking sales, revenue and global marketing.

Itinerary
- Riviera Travel River Cruises appointed Lissette Robledo as commercial marketing director, North America — a newly created role.
- Robledo is based in Fort Lauderdale and brings 20+ years of corporate marketing experience, including Carnival Cruise Lines.
- Riviera relaunched its North America business two years ago, per Robledo's own account.
- Earlier this month, Donna Kurtz was named MICE sales director of North America at Riviera.
Riviera Travel River Cruises has created a new commercial marketing director role for North America and filled it with Lissette Robledo, a marketer with more than 20 years of corporate experience and a Carnival Cruise Lines pedigree.
The appointment signals where the UK-based river cruise operator thinks its next revenue sits. Robledo will be based in Fort Lauderdale and, according to the company, will act as a bridge between sales, revenue and global marketing teams. Her remit covers brand awareness, trade and consumer engagement, and support for North American growth.
That's three departments wired into one hire. In distribution terms, it means trade partners (the travel advisors and host agencies that sell river cruising) get a dedicated marketing counterpart rather than a borrowed one.
What did the company say?
Stuart Milan, president of North America for Riviera, framed the hire as preparation for the year ahead. "We are delighted to welcome Lissette to the Riviera Travel River Cruises team and look forward to the impact we know she will have on our evolving North America marketing program," Milan said.
He added: "Lissette's innovative approach and emphasis on strengthening brand awareness across trade and consumer channels will be a vital part of our continued success as we prepare to embark on another exciting year ahead."
Note the phrasing — trade and consumer channels, in that order. For sellers of river cruise product, that's a hint the advisor-facing program is getting budget, not just the paid media plan.
Who is Robledo?
Her cruise credentials are real rather than aspirational. Robledo previously served as director of marketing at Tile Redi, a home-improvement brand, where she led brand strategy and omnichannel marketing (campaigns coordinated across retail, digital and trade touchpoints).
Before that she held roles at Evolis Inc., the ID-card printer firm, and at Carnival Cruise Lines, where she ran integrated marketing programs, international product marketing and trade marketing initiatives. The Carnival years matter most here: she has already sold cruise product through advisors at scale.
How big is the North America bet?
Robledo herself supplied the benchmark. "Riviera Travel River Cruises has had an impressive two years since relaunching its business in North America and while incredibly positive momentum has been built, there are still tremendous opportunities ahead for continued growth," she said.
Two years since relaunch. That's the measured baseline — a restart, not a startup, and one the operator now considers established enough to justify a bespoke marketing post.
She continued: "I look forward to working in close partnership with our European team to successfully strengthen our brand marketing initiatives, deepen relationships with our valued trade partners, and introduce even more North American travelers to the exceptional experiences Riviera has to offer."
The European-team reference is worth watching. Riviera's headquarters pull the product and pricing levers; Robledo's job is to translate that inventory into North American demand, largely through advisors.
Is this an isolated hire?
No. Earlier this month, Riviera named Donna Kurtz MICE sales director of North America — a role covering meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions business. Two senior North America appointments in a single month reads like an org chart being built for scale, one channel at a time.
Expect Robledo's first moves to show up in trade-facing co-op marketing and advisor education before any consumer brand splash. That's where a Carnival-trained trade marketer usually starts.
