Itinerary

  1. Norwegian Bella sails seven-day round-trip Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona starting May 2028; bookings are open now.
  2. The ship carries 159 suites within The Haven by Norwegian, designed by Piero Lissoni.
  3. Pool decks are over 15 percent larger than those on Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna.
  4. Fincantieri is building both the Bella and the Norwegian Aura, the latter due in May 2027.

Norwegian Cruise Line has opened bookings for the Norwegian Bella, adding a sixth Prima Class ship (NCL's newest vessel series) to sellable inventory with seven-day round-trip Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona starting May 2028.

The inaugural season calls at Rome, Florence and Salerno in Italy, Marseille in France, and Palma de Mallorca in Spain — a Western Med deployment that puts the ship into direct competition with premium competitors' Barcelona-based product in one of Europe's highest-volume summer cruise markets.

The Bella follows the Norwegian Aura, due for delivery in May 2027, and replicates its onboard concepts. Fincantieri, the Italian shipbuilder, is constructing both vessels. Interior design credits span AD Associates, Piero Lissoni, Rockwell Group, SMC Design and Studio Dado, plus original artwork by Australian contemporary artist George Rose.

"The Norwegian Bella marks a milestone moment in our fleet as the culmination of our award-winning Prima Class," NCL President Marc Kazlauskas said in the release. "Drawing on the innovations and guest feedback that have shaped the class from the very beginning, the Norwegian Bella brings together our most sought-after experiences in one extraordinary ship."

What can agents sell on the ship?

The hardware claims center on outdoor deck capacity, a key driver of perceived value in Mediterranean cruising. Pool decks run more than 15 percent larger than those on the Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, the most recent Prima Class ships.

New onboard features include:

  • Ocean Heights — a multi-level open-air complex spanning decks 18 through 21, positioned as a daytime space and nighttime social hub
  • Eclipse Racers — side-by-side racing attraction
  • Bella Free Fall and The Wave — a waterslide plus a pendulum-style raft slide holding up to four riders
  • The Drop — the signature Prima Class dry slide
  • Bella Ropes Course, Bella Midway (a carnival-themed nine-hole mini golf course) and Moon Climber, a harness-free multi-level adventure course

Deck eight wraps the full ship with the Ocean Boulevard promenade, now carrying additional seating, hot tubs and an outdoor bar. Infinity Beach adds pools, upscale daybeds and a full-service outdoor bar. Horizon Park on deck 19 offers lawn games.

Family inventory — a segment NCL is explicitly targeting with the ship's cabin mix — includes Little Explorers' Cay, Adventure Alley, the Kids' Aqua Park with a reimagined splash pad, The Party Slide and Infinity Loop. Adults-only upsell capacity sits in Vibe Beach Club, with infinity hot tubs, a central oceanfront bar and luxury daybeds.

How is NCL pricing the top of the ship?

The Bella carries 159 suites within The Haven by Norwegian, the line's ship-within-a-ship premium keycard-access product designed by Piero Lissoni. The Haven features an infinity pool, two hot tubs, an outdoor sauna and cold room, and separate family and adults-only zones. The suite count gives sellers a defined allocation of high-yield inventory for the maiden Mediterranean season.

The company said stateroom variety will cover "every type of traveler," including families and multigenerational groups — a positioning aimed at the multi-cabin group bookings that drive onboard revenue per sailing.

With sales now live roughly three years ahead of the May 2028 debut, NCL has an extended booking window to fill the ship's first Mediterranean season before competitors' next-generation tonnage enters the same ports.
