Margaritaville at Sea Books 30 2028 Itineraries Across 25 Ports, Adding Costa Rica and Panama
Margaritaville at Sea opened 30 2028 itineraries across 25 ports, adding first-time Limon and Colon calls on eight-night Tampa voyages and expanding Galveston departures from the Beachcomber.
Itinerary
- 30 itineraries covering 25 destinations on sale for 2028
- First-time ports Limon, Costa Rica and Colon, Panama on new eight-night Tampa voyages
- Beachcomber adds Cozumel, Progreso and Veracruz departures from Galveston
- Islander returns to New Orleans for Mardi Gras 2028 with an overnight stay
- Five-night Key West and Bimini sailing scheduled to depart June 25, 2028
Margaritaville at Sea put 30 itineraries covering 25 destinations on sale for 2028, including first-time calls in Limon, Costa Rica and Colon, Panama from the cruise line's Tampa-based Islander.
"We've built our 2028 lineup around the idea that no two escapes have to look the same," CEO Christopher Ivy said in the announcement.
What changed in the deployment map?
The 2028 program introduces eight-night Islander sailings out of Tampa that pair the two new ports with a call in Grand Cayman and four days at sea — the line's longest Southern Caribbean and Central America routing since entering the market. Returning ports across the calendar include Key West, Cozumel, Belize, Roatán, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, Bimini, Nassau and Progreso.
For travel sellers, the new routing addresses a gap in Tampa's long-haul Caribbean inventory, where most sailings cap at seven nights and rarely reach the Panama coast.
What does the Galveston expansion mean for sellers?
The Beachcomber, which debuted from PortMiami in 2027 before relocating to Galveston, will run new Mexico combinations featuring Cozumel, Progreso and Veracruz. The Galveston push gives the brand a second embarkation market and exposes West Texas and Louisiana agents to a product previously bookable only through Florida.
Which events drive the 2028 specialty calendar?
- The Islander returns to New Orleans for Mardi Gras 2028 with an overnight stay, following the brand's first Crescent City call in 2027.
- The line's third annual Halloween sailing shifts to New Orleans with an overnight.
- A Tampa departure cruises to Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao.
- A five-night sailing to Key West and Bimini departs June 25, 2028.
- Holiday and calendar sailings include St. Patrick's Day in Key West, a Mother's Day five-day to Key West and Cozumel, Memorial Day, Father's Day and a Fourth of July departure from Tampa.
- Music-focused specialty sailings with chart-topping artists return.
How does the line monetize the longer routing?
Eight-night cruises typically yield 12 to 18 percent higher revenue per booking than the brand's standard four- and five-night Tampa product, based on Caribbean market averages. Adding Colon and Limon also shifts onboard spending patterns: Central American ports drive lower-volume, higher-margin shore excursion attachment on longer itineraries, a dynamic Margaritaville at Sea will need to validate against actual onboard data once the first voyages operate.
What is the distribution picture?
The line has not disclosed whether the 2028 inventory will flow through additional trade channels beyond its direct booking engine and existing partnership with Our Vacation Center, the BDR-branded host agency that has handled a meaningful share of the brand's trade bookings since launch. Pricing was not released in the announcement, and the line did not detail commission structures or group booking thresholds for the new eight-night product — a gap that travel sellers will want filled before the 2028 wave season opens.
Inventory is now live on the company's website, with full itineraries viewable for booking through travel advisors.
