Trafalgar Taps Past Guests and Advisors for Dreamer Godmother Search
Trafalgar opens The Great Godmother Search for its 2027 Seine ship, with a free inaugural sailing for the winner's named travel advisor. Entries close October 29, 2026.
Itinerary
- Trafalgar Dreamer debuts on the Seine in April 2027 with the new "Best of the Seine with Paris & Normandy" itinerary.
- Past guests can submit Godmother entries through October 29, 2026; the winner names a travel advisor who gets a complimentary inaugural sailing.
- The format repeats Trafalgar's Verity and Reverie launches, whose Godmothers were past guests Cassie Estrella-Roca and Kate McIntosh.
Trafalgar is turning its next ship launch into a distribution play for its advisor network: past guests can compete to become Godmother of the Trafalgar Dreamer, and the travel advisor they name in their application gets a complimentary berth on the inaugural sailing.
The Great Godmother Search, announced by the TTC Tour Brands company, invites past guests to submit a meaningful story or memory from their travels with Trafalgar. Entries are open through October 29, 2026 — roughly six months before the Dreamer enters service on the Seine in April 2027.
"Travel has a way of creating memories that stay with us long after a trip comes to an end, and those stories are at the heart of what makes the Trafalgar experience so special," said Melissa DaSilva, deputy CEO and chief sales officer of TTC Tour Brands.
"The Great Godmother Search allows us an opportunity to celebrate the meaningful connections our guests have made through travel and invite one of those travelers to play a special role in welcoming Trafalgar Dreamer to the Seine," DaSilva added.
How the advisor incentive works
The mechanics matter for sellers of travel. The selected Godmother will christen the Dreamer and sail on the ship's inaugural voyage along with their travel advisor. If the winner names an advisor in their application, that advisor receives a complimentary place on the sailing — a tangible loyalty reward aimed at the trade rather than consumers alone.
DaSilva made the advisor angle explicit: "Our travel advisors are an important part of those journeys, and we wanted to recognize their role in orchestrating these memorable experiences. As we look ahead to her debut, we're excited to celebrate the stories, experiences and relationships that have shaped Trafalgar for nearly 80 years."
Trafalgar is asking advisors to amplify the campaign by sharing the opportunity with their clients — but with a guardrail. The company explicitly advises advisors not to submit entries on behalf of their guests. The application must come from the traveler, though the advisor stands to benefit if named.
A repeat format
The search repeats a formula Trafalgar has already run twice. Past guests Cassie Estrella-Roca and Kate McIntosh were selected as Godmothers of the Trafalgar Verity and the Trafalgar Reverie respectively. Trafalgar has now used guest-facing launches across three consecutive ship debuts, suggesting the format has delivered enough engagement to keep.
The ship and the itinerary
The Dreamer begins sailing the Seine in April 2027 with a new itinerary, "Best of the Seine with Paris & Normandy." The launch adds capacity to one of Europe's most in-demand river markets, where inventory for 2027 departures is already open for sale.
For advisors, the campaign offers two practical hooks: a client-facing engagement opportunity with a hard deadline of October 29, 2026, and a chance at a comped inaugural sailing tied directly to being named in a winning entry. Full eligibility requirements, judging criteria and official terms are available on Trafalgar's website.
With the Godmother set to be chosen from a pool of past guests, Trafalgar is betting that its nearly 80-year-old guest base — and the advisors who booked them — can carry the marketing load for the Dreamer's debut without a conventional celebrity christening.
