Silversea Schedules 40 Antarctica Voyages as Cormorant Hotel Opens

Silversea will run 40 Antarctica voyages through March 2027, each anchored by a stay at The Cormorant at 55 South, the hotel brand officially opening November 5, 2026. The deployment marks the first departures of Silver Endeavour from King George Island and Silver Wind from Puerto Williams, Chile, and shifts the product toward fly-cruise distribution (itineraries combining charter flights with shorter sea segments).

The season runs six to 21 nights and extends beyond the Antarctic Peninsula to South Georgia and the Falkland Islands. Of the 40 sailings, 29 are Antarctica Fly Cruise voyages, the company said in a press release. Fourteen of those sail aboard Silver Endeavour, flying guests over the Drake Passage in both directions.

Fifteen one-way sailings aboard Silver Wind, Silver Cloud and Silver Endeavour pair a flight with a ship crossing of the Drake Passage — southbound on some departures, northbound on others. Eleven voyages cross the Drake by sea in both directions, sailing from Puerto Williams.

What does the hotel add to the package?

Every sailing includes a stay at The Cormorant at 55 South. • South of the Antarctic Circle — Silver Cloud, 12 nights round-trip from Puerto Williams, departing December 9, 2026.
• Holidays in the South — Silver Wind, 15 nights, departing Puerto Williams December 22, 2026.
• Antarctica to Buenos Aires — Silver Endeavour, 21 nights departing March 4, 2027; the season's longest voyage and its only sailing ending in Buenos Aires.

The dual-embarkation structure — King George Island for Silver Endeavour fly-cruises, Puerto Williams for sea crossings — gives advisors two distinct products to sell against differing client risk tolerances and budgets. Guests booked on voyages before the November 5, 2026 grand opening receive an early preview of The Cormorant, a positioning detail agents can use for pre-opening inventory.

Silversea has not disclosed pricing or booked occupancy for the season. With 29 of 40 voyages built around flights bypassing the Drake Passage, the brand is betting demand will follow the faster, pricier route; advisors will see whether that mix holds when 2026-27 bookings mature.
