Seabourn Ovation's Maiden Quebec City Call Kicks Off Fall Season
Seabourn Ovation made its maiden Quebec City call Sept. 23, with four more visits planned before a Caribbean repositioning, as the port nears 30 October calls.

Itinerary
- Seabourn Ovation made its inaugural call to Quebec City on September 23, 2026, on a 12-day New York-to-Montréal itinerary
- The 604-passenger ship is scheduled for four additional Quebec City calls through early November before repositioning to the Caribbean in mid-November
- Port de Québec expects nearly 30 cruise visits in October from Princess, Cunard, Holland America, Celebrity, Norwegian and Regent, plus the maiden call of Explora Journeys' Explora III on September 27, 2026
Seabourn Ovation made its first-ever call at Quebec City on September 23, 2026, arriving for an overnight stay as part of a 12-day Canada and New England itinerary, Port de Québec confirmed.
The 604-passenger ship sailed from New York City on September 13, calling at Newport, Boston, Rockland, Halifax, Charlottetown and Saguenay, with scenic cruising in the Cape Cod Canal, before finishing in Montréal. The itinerary puts ultra-luxury capacity into a St. Lawrence routing that competes directly with premium and luxury product already deployed in the region by Holland America, Viking and others.
Port officials marked the inaugural call with a plaque exchange ceremony attended by Captain Emilian Cygan, Quebec officials and port authority representatives. The port framed the deployment in commercial terms, saying the sailing represents "a great way to showcase the river and the Québec City region to an international clientele seeking exclusive travel experiences."
Four More Calls Before Caribbean Repositioning
Seabourn Ovation is scheduled to return to Quebec City four more times through early November. Those calls form part of a series of 12-night cruises reaching further into the region, with calls at Gaspé, Havre-Saint-Pierre, L'Anse aux Meadows, Iles de la Madeleine and Saint-Pierre et Miquelon — ports that stretch beyond the conventional New England–Halifax corridor and give sellers of luxury Canada product a wider inventory to pitch.
The ship then repositions to the Caribbean in mid-November, operating cruises from Miami, St. Maarten and Barbados — a standard seasonal rotation that frees Seabourn's fall capacity for the Canada/New England premium market before the winter premium Caribbean window opens.
Port Builds Density Into October
The Seabourn debut signals a broader volume story at Quebec City. The port expects nearly 30 cruise ship visits in October alone, drawing vessels from Princess, Cunard, Holland America, Celebrity, Norwegian and Regent — a concentration of premium, luxury and contemporary brands that makes the St. Lawrence stop a routine fixture across price tiers for fall 2026 itineraries.
The port will also handle another inaugural this month: Explora Journeys' new Explora III arrives in Quebec City on September 27, 2026, as part of its maiden season. That adds a second ultra-luxury brand to the port's early-autumn schedule within a five-day span, intensifying competition for high-yield fall cruisers in the region.
For travel sellers, the takeaway is straightforward: Quebec City is consolidating its position as a turn or overnight port for luxury fall foliage itineraries, with Seabourn now a repeat caller and Explora entering the market fresh — expanding the range of premium St. Lawrence product bookable for the remainder of the 2026 season and, by deployment pattern, beyond.
