Princess Cruises will release 90 departures across more than 70 Australia and New Zealand itineraries (set voyage routes) on Nov. 10, 2026, plus a 129-night round-the-world cruise on Grand Princess. The line calls that voyage the longest ever to sail roundtrip from Australia; all voyages go on sale the same day.
What does the Australia season add?
The 2028–29 program spans 42 destinations across six countries, with voyages ranging from two to 46 nights. Princess will deploy Emerald Princess, Royal Princess and Grand Princess; Emerald returns to Australia for the first time since 2016–17. Without berth-capacity or occupancy figures, the lineup’s revenue and market-share effect cannot be calculated.
The schedule includes 17 round-Australia voyages showcasing Australia’s coastline and destinations. Sailings depart from Adelaide, Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth (Fremantle) and Sydney, giving sellers six starting markets without implying that every ship calls at every port.
Princess Cruises’ chief commercial officer Jim Berra framed the launch as an extension of the line’s discovery story. He said: “Princess Cruises has a long and proud history of inspiring guests to explore the world, and our 2028–29 season takes that spirit of discovery to extraordinary new heights.”
He added: “From the longest World Cruise ever to sail roundtrip out of Australia to an unmatched variety of voyages showcasing the beauty of Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, we’re giving guests more ways to discover remarkable destinations, immerse themselves in different cultures and see the world in new ways.” It was launch pitch, not operating data.
The itinerary supports the variety claim, but “longest” and “unmatched” remain company claims without competitor schedules or an independent benchmark. The announcement provides no cabin prices, bookings, passenger totals, revenue forecasts or market-size estimate. Sellers have a schedule and pitch, not measured demand.
How does the world voyage compare?
Grand Princess will operate the 129-night Grand World Odyssey, covering approximately 37,300 nautical miles and visiting 61 destinations across 31 countries. At 129 nights, it is roughly 2.8 times the regional program’s 46-night maximum, giving agents a distinctly longer product.
Guests may begin in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne, with an additional departure opportunity from Dover, the gateway to London. The route moves through Europe and the Mediterranean, the South Pacific, cities of the Americas and some remote islands.
- Visits include New York City, Miami, Reykjavik, Lisbon, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Tahiti and Auckland.
- Two full transits through the Panama Canal’s new locks.
- Scenic cruising (close-up coastal navigation) near Easter Island, famous for its moai statues, and Pitcairn Island, one of the world’s most isolated inhabited islands.
- The ship crosses the Equator twice and the International Date Line twice.
What changes for travel sellers?
Travel advisors, tour operators and cruise sellers receive a concentrated inventory launch beginning Nov. 10, 2026. The regional Early Booking Bonus offers up to $500 in instant savings, up to $500 in onboard credit (credit usable for shipboard spending), a reduced $100 deposit, early access to dining reservations and arrival groups, and a free location upgrade.
Captain’s Circle (the member savings program) adds up to $300 in savings. For the Grand World Odyssey, the bonus reaches up to $3,000 in onboard credit plus up to $2,000 in Captain’s Circle savings.
Both offers run from Nov. 10, 2026 through Feb. 16, 2027. The incentives make an early sale more valuable and may pull bookings forward, but Princess supplied no redemption forecast or booking-value data. It announced no new booking platform, agent commission change or cancellation terms, leaving distribution and seller-margin effects unquantified.
For sellers, a long itinerary is not a demand forecast. The commercial test is conversion from six regional departure markets and three Australian world-cruise gateways; booking, pricing and yield (revenue per available cabin) data must show whether the launch produces durable revenue rather than a well-promoted early spike.
