Panache Cruises has hired three specialists including ex-Althams trainer Jade Hegarty, as the 2020-founded luxury cruise agency passes 100 staff with offices in the US and Australia.

Itinerary
- Panache Cruises has hired three specialists, including former Althams Travel trainer Jade Hegarty as Sales Training and Development Manager.
- The company, founded by James Cole in 2020, now has more than 100 staff and offices in the US and Australia.
- Hegarty spent 13 years at Althams Travel's Chorley branch and has just completed two weeks onboarding Panache's US staff.
- Alyson Page joins as Financial Controller and Ben Houghton as Data Analyst.
- CEO James Cole said: 'As we scale, we need specialists.'
Panache Cruises has hired three specialists in a single round of recruitment, bringing a former Althams Travel trainer, a financial controller and a data analyst into a luxury cruise agency that now employs more than 100 people. For a business founded in 2020, that headcount is the number worth watching.
The highest-profile appointment is Jade Hegarty, who joins as Sales Training and Development Manager after 13 years at Althams Travel's Chorley branch. She spent most of that time as a Travel Consultant before becoming the agency's Company Trainer in 2019, and later added a part-time role as a Tourism Management Lecturer at Runshaw College.
She has already been put to work. Hegarty has just spent two weeks onboarding Panache's US staff, a signal that the company's American operation is large enough to need structured training rather than ad-hoc instruction. In luxury cruise retail, where product knowledge drives conversion on high-ticket bookings, training is a sales function, not a back-office one.
Who else has joined?
Hegarty is one of three arrivals. Alyson Page starts as Financial Controller, and Ben Houghton has been appointed Data Analyst — a role that did not exist at most cruise agencies of this size a decade ago.
Houghton, a Loughborough University graduate, was blunt about the reasoning. "A business like Panache Cruises, with offices around the world, generates a lot of data. My job is to help the management team make more informed decisions from the data," he said.
That is the quiet headline. A dedicated analyst means Panache intends to mine its booking data for pricing, targeting and product decisions — the kind of capability that separates scaled retailers from lifestyle businesses.
What does the hiring spree signal?
Chief Executive James Cole, who founded the company and has overseen the recruitment, framed the hires as a matter of stage rather than ambition. "These appointments reflect where we are as a business," Cole said. "As we scale, we need specialists."
He was more effusive about Hegarty specifically: "Jade's exceptionally motivated and skilled. As we continue to scale the business, we're looking for experts in their area and Jade absolutely ticks that box."
The structure tells the story. Panache is headquartered in Chorley — the same Lancashire town as Hegarty's former employer — and has grown from a 2020 startup to more than 100 staff with international offices in the US and Australia. Hiring a financial controller, a data analyst and a training manager in one wave is what distribution businesses do when they are building infrastructure for the next tier of volume, not merely replacing leavers.
No revenue figures, booking volumes or market-share data accompanied the announcement, so the growth claim rests on headcount and office footprint for now. Still, the pattern is familiar: specialists follow scale, and they usually arrive just before the numbers that justify them.
Whether Panache's next announcement contains those numbers, or just more job titles, will tell sellers of luxury cruise how real the scaling story is.
