HBX Group Globalizes Bedsonline-Virtuoso Partnership After 24 Years

HBX Group converts its 2001 North American Bedsonline-Virtuoso tie-up into a global agreement, giving Virtuoso's worldwide advisor network access to Bedsonline's Luxury Collection, transfers, car rental and curated experiences through one platform.

Itinerary

  1. HBX Group and Virtuoso first partnered through Bedsonline in 2001, with the prior relationship limited to North America.
  2. The expanded agreement gives Virtuoso agencies worldwide access to Bedsonline's hotels, Luxury Collection, transfers, car rental and experiences.
  3. David Amsellem is HBX Group's chief distribution officer; Cory Hagopian is senior vice president of global partnerships.
  4. Bedsonline's Luxury Collection is paired with The Luxurist concierge service for premium client itineraries.
  5. The deal repositions Bedsonline, historically strong among mid-scale European and Latin American leisure agencies, further into the luxury tier.

HBX Group has converted its long-running North American Bedsonline-Virtuoso partnership into a global agreement, giving Virtuoso member agencies worldwide access to the B2B platform's full portfolio of accommodations, premium transfers, experiences and car rental.

The relationship between the two organizations began in 2001 and had previously been limited to travel advisors in the United States and Canada. The expansion removes that geographic ceiling and opens Bedsonline's inventory — including its Luxury Collection and The Luxurist concierge service — to Virtuoso agencies across every market the network serves.

What the deal covers

Virtuoso members can now book through one connection to Bedsonline:

  • Full accommodation inventory, including the Luxury Collection tier
  • Premium transfers and car rental
  • Tours, activities and curated experiences
  • The Luxurist concierge service for high-end itineraries

For hoteliers and experience operators plugged into Bedsonline, the trade is reach. A single commercial relationship with the platform now opens a doorway to Virtuoso's global advisor base — agencies whose clients typically book higher-value, longer-lead journeys than the broader leisure market.

David Amsellem, chief distribution officer at HBX Group, framed the move as a distribution milestone rather than a marketing exercise. "The relationship between Bedsonline and Virtuoso has been built over more than two decades, and taking it from North America to a global scale marks an important milestone for both organisations," he said.

"By giving them access to our global portfolio — including our Luxury Collection — in one place, we're making it easier for advisors to create highly personalised journeys, while opening new opportunities for our hotel and travel partners to connect with some of the world's most discerning travellers."

What changes for travel sellers

The flip side of the deal is what Bedsonline's Luxury Collection suppliers gain. Virtuoso has long positioned itself as a curator of upper-tier inventory, and its agencies dominate luxury booking share in several regional markets. The expanded tie-up gives hotels in the collection a single, scalable channel to reach that advisor audience globally rather than building market-by-market relationships.

It also reshapes Bedsonline's commercial positioning. The platform has historically built its base among mainstream and mid-scale leisure agencies in Europe and Latin America; the global Virtuoso agreement pushes the brand further into the premium tier it has been building out through its Luxury Collection launches of recent years.

Cory Hagopian, senior vice president of global partnerships, said the enhanced setup is designed to consolidate fragmented booking activity for the network's advisors. "This enhanced partnership gives our advisors around the world access to a broader range of accommodations, experiences, transfers, and mobility solutions through a single, travel advisor-focused platform," he said.

"We are helping advisors create more personalized and seamless journeys for our clients while also opening new opportunities for our preferred travel and hospitality partners to connect with Virtuoso's influential global network."

What to watch next

The commercial test will be whether Bedsonline's Luxury Collection suppliers register a measurable lift in bookings sourced from Virtuoso advisors outside North America over the next four quarters — the benchmark that will decide whether the partnership translates into the higher-value, longer-lead itineraries both sides say it is built to deliver.
