- Delta loyalty revenue rose 18% in Q3; loyalty and premium revenue grew 20% year over year.
- Delta expects more than $9 billion in 2026 from its American Express partnership.
- Delta is the first Amex GBT partner to test one-click enrollment capabilities.
- Fast Track enrollment previously required travel managers to circulate a sign-up link.
Delta and American Express Global Business Travel are piloting one-click enrollment in Delta SkyMiles and the Fast Track to Medallion Status offer directly inside corporate booking tools — a distribution tweak that puts loyalty sign-up at the point of sale rather than after the trip.
The pilot, announced Wednesday, covers three channels. Travelers at participating corporate customers booking through Egencia can enroll in SkyMiles, while those booking through SAP Concur and Amex GBT tools can join Fast Track, the program that lets business travelers earn Delta status faster. Delta said it is the first Amex GBT partner to test the capabilities.
What changes in the booking flow?
Until now, Fast Track enrollment has usually depended on travel managers circulating a sign-up link. Delta's terms limit eligibility to members who receive the offer from Delta or an approved channel, so the corporate booking tool effectively becomes that approved channel.
The pilot moves enrollment into the traveler's own hands at the moment of booking. That's a small workflow change with real distribution weight: the loyalty funnel no longer depends on a travel manager remembering to forward a link.
Both companies said the features are still under development and that travelers at participating customers are at different stages of testing. So this is a measured pilot, not a launched product.
In plain words: Delta is moving loyalty sign-up from an afterthought into the booking path itself.
Why Delta wants status earned on corporate bookings
The timing tracks with Delta's loyalty numbers. Loyalty revenue rose 18% in the third quarter, and loyalty and premium revenue together grew 20% year over year. Delta expects more than $9 billion in 2026 from its American Express partnership.
Chief commercial officer Joe Esposito said SkyMiles membership is growing faster than capacity. For Delta, embedding enrollment in corporate booking tools widens that funnel further — every business trip booked through a participating channel becomes a potential sign-up.
In plain words: loyalty is already Delta's fastest-growing revenue line, and this pilot feeds it.
Why Amex GBT is interested
For Amex GBT, the play addresses leakage — corporate travelers who book outside company channels to chase airline status on their own terms. If status enrollment and faster qualification live inside the mandated booking tool, the incentive to book off-channel shrinks.
That matters for managed-travel economics: every booking kept inside the program preserves Amex GBT's transaction volume and corporate customers' data compliance. The pilot is still in testing, so there's no measured leakage impact yet — that's the number to watch if the features go live broadly.
Both companies are betting that one-click enrollment boosts engagement with business travelers. If the pilot converts, expect Delta to push the capability to more Amex GBT partners and booking platforms in 2026.
